Chef Chirag Makwana
Chef Chirag Makwana is the Sous Chef at Toast & Tonic, Bengaluru, with close to a decade of experience in the culinary industry. Born and raised in Mumbai, his passion for food began at a young age while helping his mother in the kitchen. He trained at the prestigious Canadian Food and Wine Institute in Niagara and gained experience in international kitchens before returning to India to join the Olive Group. As part of the team that launched Toast & Tonic in both Bengaluru and Mumbai, he has worked closely with Chef Manu Chandra. His cooking philosophy focuses on simplicity, authenticity, and letting flavours speak for themselves. Chef Chirag prioritises taste first, followed by thoughtful plating and texture. He strongly believes in using in-house and locally inspired ingredients wherever possible. Now based in Bengaluru, he deeply admires the city’s vibrant food culture and hospitality.

Thoughtfully designed to feel like a hidden escape—warm lighting, plush seating, and industrial details set the scene for a table set to serve European flavours with Japanese techniques.
